Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame launches brand-new website
Special to The OBSERVER
The Board of Directors of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame is very excited to announce that a brand-new website has been created for the CSHOF.
Since its launch in December 2007, the original CSHOF website has seen an amazing growth in the content available to users. Now closing in on 1,400 pages, it is the go-to site for information about the CSHOF and its 200 inductees.
With the advancement of technologies since the original website was built 12 years ago, coupled with the ever widening use of cell phones, tablets and other mobile devices, the website was badly outdated and in need of a complete upgrade.
With generous assistance from the Lenna Foundation, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, enough money was secured to match the amount the CSHOF Board committed to the project.
Doug Hoisington, of Earth Spark, a Jamestown-based web developer, was contracted to do a complete revision of the website. After a year’s work the new website is now complete.
The new website provides a dynamic design illustrative of contemporary web practices. It features a responsive design providing excellent user experience on any screen size.
The website standardizes the presentation of content and is compliant with Web Content Accessibilty Guidelines to reduce or eliminate impediments for users with disabilities.
The easy-to-navigate site is compatible with current versions of the most commonly used browsers and utilizes current best standards regarding security and search engine optimization.
Finally, the new site employs best practice coding techniques to improve website performance and facilitate maintenance and updating and introduces improved traffic analysis techniques to assure accuracy.
Typing the name Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame or the name of any of our inductees into any popular internet search engine will lead one to www.chautauquasportshalloffame.org.
